When Ken and I first met, we had no idea this is where we would end up. As our relationship grew, we always supported each other in whatever interest or hobby we were dreaming about. When I began to obsess over nutrition, Ken joined me in watching all the documentaries, and listening to my rants about the quality of our food supply. It wasn’t until we had our first child that this commitment to quality food in our home solidified. I went on to get my Nutritional Therapy Practitioner certification in 2015 when our third baby was born.

Two years later we had created a bountiful backyard garden in the borough we were living in. Unfortunately, the borough code didn’t allow for some basic homesteading animals, like chickens that we hoped to raise for eggs (nourishment for our growing family!). Despite Ken’s many attempts to get the borough code changed, we didn’t see a future in our small borough where we could supply the homesteading nutrition to our family that we so desired.

The summer of 2017 brought heartache. We lost Ken’s mom unexpectedly and it was a hard time. It was then when we realized that our dream of a homestead just had to happen. Nothing was worth waiting for. NOW is the time to live our dream. Life is but a vapor.

Ken began to hunt the real estate websites and stumbled upon Dreamland. Dreamland was not a farm. It was a home that a loving couple created with two home based businesses - Pianos and Ebay. We saw Dreamland as an opportunity to make our dreams a reality. We put in the offer, crossed our fingers, met our friends for a sushi dinner and dreamed.

The next day we heard our offer was accepted and the rest is history.

Dreamland Farmstead is literally our dream come true. The name, the land, the family. We are here to grow, harvest, and feed our family and community with the fruits of our labor.

This is our story. This is our dream. And we our grateful for every minute of it.
